About Celsius to Fahrenheit
Celsius and Fahrenheit are the two scales most people encounter for everyday temperature. Most of the world uses Celsius, while the United States uses Fahrenheit. The two scales meet at -40°, but otherwise diverge significantly, which is why a simple conversion formula matters.
Fahrenheit = (Celsius × 9/5) + 32. Or equivalently: F = C × 1.8 + 32.
To convert 25°C: 25 × 1.8 + 32 = 77°F. A pleasant 25°C summer day is 77 degrees Fahrenheit.

- 03Understanding scientific data published in Celsius
- 04Diagnosing fever (37°C ≈ 98.6°F is normal body temperature)
A bit of history
The Celsius scale was proposed by Anders Celsius in 1742 and uses the freezing and boiling points of water (0°C and 100°C) as anchors. Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit proposed his scale in 1724, originally calibrated to a brine solution and human body temperature.
Frequently asked questions
